I
wrote the Agape scene.
As for the banquet dream, well, such
things happen. The ironic thing is, the
moment you tell yourself, in a lucid moment, that you will forget any part of a
dream, that will generally be the only part that you remember. I suppose both Deirdre and I tried to fancy
ourselves pure and impervious to such thoughts, while at the same time striving
towards an unbalanced sanctity, which naturally builds up a Shadow-charge. Real sanctity knows its own Shadow and deals
with it with open eyes.
Regarding the guard’s thoughts, I have
dreamed of Sister Assunta. It seemed
likely that a student of hers, in the army, would rationalize like this.
Prayer
cloths often feature as a background detail in my dreams of the Charadoc, so I
wrote here of the rebels receiving some, so as to explain their presence later. As far as the clothing goes, they did appear
brightly-clad and with somewhat wider sleeves, for the timeframe following
this. I didn’t have far to look for a
reason why.
